PLN 6
I did my PLN 6 on a personal problem that has to do with me. After reading Laura Main’s article, Youth soccer coach arrested, accused of sex assault. Had to do with my friend I would not like to speak her name and that coach, Stephen Meyer, was my goalie coach and I was so saddened to see my coach get arrested. What matters in this article is friends and family. I could not sleep for a while because I knew my friend was hurting for this man’s actions. Safety is a huge issue that mattered in this matter and maybe now my soccer team and even all the boys soccer team will be safe and feel comfortable with the rest of the club. The only thing is Stephen Meyer had a stellar background no criminal charges at all but great people make stupid decisions sometimes. I tink this is very sad that this happened to you andsomeone that so close to you =( i hope you get over this! and i think that maybe kids should only have limited acess to the kids, like they should not be able to interact with te kids off the field
Liz!- this is pretty sad and I guess it just shows you that you don't really know what people are like. I've experienced this before because it turned out that my 2nd uncle turned out to be a rapist. You just really never know what someone is really like.
This dude is a freak. I typed about this article too. I feel so bad for you that that was your best freind. That is horrible but really good job.

I would have people know more about the coaches know more background knowledge.

You made great eye contact and it must be hard for you and your friend to go through something like this after you felt like you trusted this person. Good question, and great job on the overall presentation!

I really like how you interacted with the class by making direct eye contact. You should run through your presentation a couple times before hand, so you don’t have to look at your note cards so much. You did a really good job speaking loudly and to the whole class, but just make sure you don’t say “like” or “OK” too much! Keep it up!

Liz, I'm sorry to hear about your friend and how you had to have that coach. I'm not sure why he sexually assulted your friend and I'm not sure if you do to. People should get to know the coaches better. I think we can prevent it by having more adult supervision and more backround on them.

Wow. I’m really sorry. I like how you chose a topic that was relevant and real to you. I don’t think that there is nothing you can really do to prevent it, maybe some parent supervision. But mainly there isn’t a way to completely stop it. You had super good eye contact:] Good job chica!! :]]
Liz- I think it was really deep of you to share something this personal and deep. I'm sorry for that happening, that is horrible.You did really good giving just enough information, that brought up a topic that didn't cause a lot of arguments and fighting.

This was really good. I think this is a very shocking story. Especially because this girl was so close to you, and the fact that the person who caused this pain and suffering was someone so close to you.

Good job you PLN was very deep. I thought that it was cool how you got your PLN to connect to you.
That was very sad and emotional. i think that it is so odd that this was your goalie coach.That is so sad. ithink that it is great that you talked about such a sad topic. Your presentation was a little dull but you still did a great job.
Thats very sad.This happens alot and its too bad there is no really good solid way to stop this.
